Dear @BillAckman, I'm gonna QT this b/c you don't really reply to people (2x in past 12mos AFAICT) but you QT a lot, and you have responded to one QT in 18mos. You don't seem to interact much but use twitter as a bullhorn. Your loss.

This is a very thoughtful piece and I agree. We have a large notional short position against the Hong Kong dollar through the ownership of put options. The peg no longer makes sense for Hong Kong and it is only a matter of time before it breaks.

Up until moments before a currency peg is lifted, the sovereign always asserts that they will never lift their peg. Peg defense 101.
If China is indeed a strong, independent sovereign, why does it need to peg its currency and that of Hong Kong’s to the US dollar?
In light of the US/China decoupling of recent years, we find it particularly surprising, almost embarrassing, for China to continue to peg the HK dollar to the U.S. dollar.

The Russians appear to understand the failure of their approach to war against @Ukraine. In this segment, the Russians explain why @Ukraine cannot cede any of its territory to end the conflict. @Ukraine is now resolved to fight to the death for its liberty. Finally, I get it.

Wow, guest on Russian TV says Russia violated international law by invading Ukraine and Ukraine finds it unconscionable to surrender.
Meanwhile in Russia: several panelists threw some truth grenades at the stunned TV hosts, look how those angry propagandists pummeled the pundit who said that by destroying the infrastructure, Russia is waging a cruel, sadistic war against civilians. He won't be invited back.

Ukraine can (will) defeat Russia's military in Ukraine and reclaim/liberate its sovereign land. No that does not lead to nuclear war. There has never been a threat to Russia. This war had nothing to do with NATO. Russia is committing genocide in Ukraine.
Stop listening to the opinions of people with a lot of money, followers, or fame but with zero education or experience in strategy, geo-politics, history, or military disciplines. No, actually Ukraine does not have to make peace or come to terms with Russia to end the war.
Since the @Ukraine war commenced, I have been a 110% supporter of UKR urging the US to accelerate the delivery of more and better weapons and more financial support. I have also contributed $12m of direct philanthropic support and $10m of indirect support to groups assisting UKR.
